The result of this complete home renovation and redesign in Falmouth, MA, is a retreat that not only meets the family's practical needs but also exceeds expectations in terms of style, comfort, and a welcoming coastal atmosphere. The fusion of thoughtful design choices, vibrant color palettes, and a commitment to functionality has truly transformed this residence into a sanctuary for the family to escape to during weekends and summer months.

To infuse each area with a vibrant coastal charm, I carefully curated color palettes inspired by the coastal surroundings. Shades of coral, seaglass, nautical blues, and sandy hues were incorporated, drawing inspiration from the natural elements of the Falmouth landscape. This thoughtful selection of colors not only reflected the serene coastal atmosphere but also contributed to a cohesive design theme that seamlessly connected every room in the house.

In addition to the major transformations in the upstairs family room, downstairs guest bedroom, and all three bathrooms, I implemented various enhancements to elevate the overall ambiance of the Falmouth retreat. The goal was not only to create visually appealing spaces but also to ensure functionality, catering to the family's specific needs during weekends and summer getaways.

Starting with the upstairs bedrooms, office, sunroom, and downstairs family room, a meticulous approach was taken to utilize existing furniture effectively. By strategically repositioning pieces, I aimed to optimize the layout for practicality while maintaining a seamless flow between spaces. The result was a harmonious blend of style and functionality, creating inviting environments for relaxation and socializing.

In the process, I paid special attention to creating a kid and dog-friendly environment. Durable and easily maintainable materials were chosen, ensuring that the renovated spaces could withstand the energetic presence of children and pets while still exuding elegance and comfort.

Moreover, the addition of colorful art and tasteful decor elements played a pivotal role in completing the aesthetic of each room. These carefully chosen accents not only added visual interest but also served to illuminate and enliven the spaces, transforming the home into a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation.

HERITAGE BLUE

Location: Sudbury, MA
Living Room Design

This Living Room was designed for a young family of four with two small children in Sudbury, MA.

They desired a space that reflected their casual lifestyle while maintaining a classic aesthetic. They had mentioned their admiration for the color navy, so to keep it timeless it was only fitting to utilize a navy and white color scheme.

The room is made up of the typical colonial-style floor plan with a center fireplace and oblong proportions. To keep the French doors to the exterior accessible, the sofa was centered on the fireplace and coupled with two accent chairs floating in the space. The pieces were grouped together by a large 9x12 Greek key patterned area rug.

The family had a few pieces they asked to incorporate into the room, the main one being a gorgeous black lacquered grand piano, which was positioned in the left corner of the room where you enter the space. Two bamboo chairs were given new life after being reupholstered by a local workroom with fresh fabrics. The large gold mirror was highlighted above the sofa, while successfully tying into the other design elements.

These days most clients are looking for a transitional style living space that incorporates both new and existing pieces to create a classic, yet eclectic look. Mixing metals such as new polished chrome drapery rods with a crystal accent, polished chrome lamps with the brushed gold mirror and coffee table. Simple navy linen drapery panels are always in style and add contrast to the off-white painted walls, while anchoring the room. The room is revitalized and given new life with a new area rug, custom throw pillows and artwork hung over the fireplace.

EAST LEXINGTON

Location: East Lexington, MA
Photography by Two Shots Photography in New Hampshire

If you have been following along with our Earthy Modern project on Instagram, you might have noticed some preview pictures. We are so excited to be sharing with you the final product for this home and take you on some of the journey and thought process that went on.

Kitchen & Mudroom

This Kitchen was the major tip of the iceberg for this project. Originally it had a diagonal island, which created a lot of unusable space, dark outdated cabinets, and was not reaching its full potential. The space also featured a traditional Roman column, between the Kitchen and Family Room, which was made more modern by squaring it out. Between all of these major changes the clients decided to redo all of their wood flooring, staining it a light warm brown to neutralize the home and take out the yellow/orange coloring.

We started by selecting all new white cabinets to go with a white quartz countertop. The new island design was created to be as big as possible to not only maximize the work surface and entertaining area, but give the illusion of a larger kitchen. What gave the kitchen its wow factor though, were the waterfall edges on the island. Nothing says “wow” more than large slabs of stone with seamless mitered edges.

To balance out with the massive island, we opted for two large circular pendants instead of three smaller lights. We then chose a complimentary circular fabric drum shade for the everyday dining space to soften the room.

Finally, the dark gray ceramic backsplash comes in to break up all of the white, coordinating with the veining in the countertop.

Off the Kitchen is the Mudroom, and for this we brought in a local closet company we have worked with in the past. They were able to maximize the space, providing a more efficient organization system inside the closets and also adding on a wall of cabinets for extra pantry space. We selected a large modern tile for the floor to keep it clean and simple, using their personal color photography framed pieces, and accent pillows for personality.

Living Room

We loved that this family wanted to use these next few spaces in a way that fits them. Where a traditional room with a TV would be found off the Kitchen, they wanted it as a hang out space. A place for the kids to be on their tablets or playing with toys, and a spot for the parents to catch up on a good book, but all be in the same room together.

They had a gorgeous large window looking out into the backyard that let in a ton of natural light. This inspired us to create a large custom daybed, almost the size of a twin bed. We placed a large comfortable sofa from Ethan Allen across from the daybed with pillows that became the main color inspiration for the room, pops of red being sprinkled throughout, as you see in the side chairs. Another show stopping piece in this room was the coffee table. The large scale of it really grounded the space and also balances out the other large furniture pieces making it cozy.

As a personal touch, we wanted to incorporate our client's collection of framed photography that they’ve collected over the years. We grouped them into small galleries, which was a way to include as many as we could in one space and knew they would all complement one another.

Dining Room/Family Room

Since the Dining and Family Room are open to one another, we looked at these two spaces as one. We used the same area rug for both and similar color schemes.

Our client requested to keep their dining table and server, which were already neutral and would go in the direction they were wanting. They also requested low maintenance and easy to clean dining chairs. We were able to add some pops of color into this space with chairs that pulled color from the art we had sourced. A Hubbardton Forge chandelier elevated this room, while making it feel not too formal. We finished it off with color coordinating vases to tie in the colors from the art and adjacent family room.

While furniture shopping at Ethan Allen, our client commented on the Longhorn Bull Photography, so that print along with the Dining Room art became the color inspiration for the space. We were able to find fun pattern pillows from one of our fabric vendors and then we were able to select the rest of the finishes and fabric to complement these colors.

A lot of the furniture you see through all of these spaces was sourced from our to-the-trade design vendors and retailers like Ethan Allen, Crate & Barrel, and West Elm.

Bathrooms

When it came to the bathrooms, we chose finishes and fixtures that would withstand the test of time and trends. From the earthy textured tiles, to compliment the simple veins running through the countertops that sit atop simple white cabinets, these are all things that will not go out of style. Modern Grohe fixtures throughout, paired with Possini Euro sconces to give the bathroom a little personality. These are items that, if needed, can easily be switched out to give the bathroom a completely new vibe. However, this bathroom, with it’s deep soaking tub, and luxury fixtures, is the “at home spa” we all want to come to at the end of a long week!

AMHERST BUILD

Location: Amherst, NH
New Build Design

This was the most expansive project we’ve undertaken to date: a stunning 6,000 sq. ft. home with three levels and 6.5 bathrooms.

Working in close collaboration with both the builder and the clients, we transformed their vision of the perfect New Hampshire retreat into reality. Designed as one of their multiple residences, the home prioritizes functionality and warmth, especially for their grandchildren, who visit during monthly stays.

Our clients requested a "Modern Farmhouse" aesthetic, and while we embraced the farmhouse charm, we balanced it with a more refined, less traditional feel. Classic elements like shiplap, barn doors, and rustic details were thoughtfully incorporated throughout, but given a contemporary twist to maintain a timeless look.

We curated every interior finish, millwork, light fixture, and piece of furniture to ensure a cohesive and personalized look. This rewarding project culminated in a beautifully modern yet inviting home that perfectly complements the clients’ lifestyle and needs.

TROLLEY BUILD

Location: Pelham, NH
New Build Design

Completed in September 2023, this new build project holds a special significance as it's not just another design endeavor; it's Allison Ducharme’s very own sanctuary.

This home reflects her unique style and preferences. With the freedom to customize every inch of the interior, Allison embarked on a journey to create a space that embodies lightness, freshness, and modern vibe.

Drawing inspiration from her love of neutrals, textures, and pops of color, Allison has transformed her home into a sanctuary that is as inviting as it is stylish. Soft hues and clean lines dominate the interior, creating an airy ambiance that exudes warmth and comfort.

Neutrals serve as the foundation of Allison's design scheme, providing a sense of balance and cohesion while allowing individual elements to shine. But it's the thoughtful use of textures and pops of color that truly elevate the space, adding depth, visual interest, and a sense of personality to every room.

The rest of Allison's home awaits to be professionally photographed. Stay tuned or follow on Instagram.

NEWTON BUILD

The new build project in Newton, MA, spanning approximately two years, stands as a testament to the collaborative effort between myself and a loyal client with whom I had previously worked on their last house. This time around, my role shifted towards a consultative capacity, where I was entrusted with guiding and advising on every decision related to the creation of their new home.

From the project's inception, my client expressed a strong desire for a design that exuded timeless elegance, leaning heavily towards the traditional side with an abundance of moldings and architectural features. The journey of transforming this vision into reality involved numerous ventures to various suppliers and vendors. Accompanying my client on expeditions to millwork suppliers, stone yards, and wood flooring showrooms became a routine, fostering a hands-on approach to curating the perfect elements for the home.

The meticulous selection process extended beyond construction materials to encompass every aspect of interior design. Furniture shopping and sourcing became a collaborative exploration, ensuring that each piece harmonized seamlessly with the envisioned aesthetic. The palette chosen for finishes and furniture leaned towards a sophisticated array of neutral tones, establishing a canvas that allowed for the integration of timeless design elements.

To infuse a touch of vibrancy and personality into the space, we strategically introduced pops of color, with orange and blue emerging as the chosen hues. These accent tones played a crucial role in elevating the overall aesthetic, injecting life and energy into the classic and elegant backdrop.

As the project unfolded over the course of two years, it became clear that this endeavor was unique in its commitment to achieving the utmost in classic and timeless design. Reflecting on the collaborative journey, the Newton, MA project remains a highlight in my portfolio, showcasing not only the culmination of meticulous planning and execution but also the enduring beauty of a classic and elegant design.

GREENBRIAR

Location: Amherst, NH

This Living Room was thoughtfully designed for a young couple seeking a transitional style that balances neutral earth tones with modern comfort.

The space features warm, earthy woods that beautifully complement the flooring, along with cozy, inviting furniture perfect for both quiet relaxation and gatherings with friends.

The transformation involved smoothing out the vertical grooves on the walls, creating a sleek, modern finish. We painted the ceiling beams in a rich brown to enhance the warmth of the wood flooring, while the built-ins were given a striking gray-blue color for added contrast and character. The walls were coated in a soft, neutral beige, providing a perfect backdrop for the design elements.

To add a layer of softness and texture, we incorporated woven wood shades and plaid drapery, giving the room a cozy and inviting feel. The clients selected artwork from a favorite artist to hang above the sofa, infusing the space with a personal and meaningful touch.

To complete the look, we added recessed ceiling lights and replaced their fan with a more contemporary one, bringing in both functionality and style.

CHIC RANCH

Location: Tewksbury, MA

This client was looking for something fresh and different for her ranch style home. Having lived here with her husband and kids most of her life she was ready to shake things up, and that she did! The scope consisted mostly of her Living and Dining Space, as well as her Entry, and a few upgrades in the Kitchen.

Living Space

After finalizing an area rug for the space, we spent an afternoon shopping at Ethan Allen, where she selected a comfortable sofa with a chaise for easy lounging. Then we suggested the Baylee Barrel Back chair, a staple for us for its swivel functionality and overall comfort. We chose a deep sapphire velvet for the side chairs, and a soft gray for the sofa with pops of teal pillows, again pulling in more color elements from the rug. All finishes, from the rug to the furniture are very durable and timeless.

What truly made this room chic though were the modern additions. A clean line media console complemented the finish on the nesting coffee tables. Accent tables sourced from our trade vendors add convenience to keep from reaching around the room for a surface. An abstract painting hangs over the fireplace to tie in the rug and reminds our clients of days spent at the beach. The biggest secret about this room is the fiddle fig tree in the corner; she invested in having the most realistic faux tree so she never has to worry about maintenance.

Dining Room

While shopping for the Living Room we also spotted a mid-century style round table for the Dining Room. We always love a round table in a Dining Room for ease of socializing, and because of its light grey surface it tied in perfectly with the tones of the living space. A simple yet elegant chandelier lights up the room with coordinating sconces. Three large mirrors were then hung on the opposite end of the room to give the illusion of a larger space.

The real “WOW” in the space though is the large abstract art. We went with something that brought in colors not used, but still worked because of what had already been used. It is a complete surprise element that you don’t expect turning the corner, but we love it!

Entry/Kitchen

While the changes in these spaces were minor, it really helped tie back in with the spaces that had major changes. Since our client wasn’t quite ready to tackle demoing the tile, a custom cut rug was ordered to fit the entry. We love these rugs and suggest them often for entry’s because of how easy they are to clean and the neutral colors and textures they come in. A slim console was added as a “catch all” and a simple mirror with smokey details for a modern look.

For the Kitchen, new counter stools were sourced that had a chrome finish to compliment the new chrome pendants, and other chrome finishes in the home.

Overall this space is chic enough for a girl’s night in, durable enough for having the grandkids make memories together, and super stylish for everyday living!

Primary Bedroom

Our client desired a fresh and vibrant bedroom that reflected the colorful themes we've established in her other rooms.

The design journey began with the discovery of an abstract piece of art, which became the cornerstone of our color scheme. This artwork's dynamic palette guided the selection of all subsequent elements in the room.

To provide a contrast to her warm flooring, we replaced the cherry furniture with a beautiful gray collection. This change not only modernized the space but also highlighted the vibrant hues we introduced.

We kept the foundation of the room a neutral gray. Luxurious velvet pillows and colorful decor pieces were used to add pops of color, creating a sophisticated yet lively atmosphere.

The result is a stunning bedroom that perfectly balances boldness and elegance, providing our client with a vibrant sanctuary that complements her entire home.

NORTHLAND

Location: Windham, NH

For this family room transformation, the main goal was to incorporate a stylish look while keeping it functional and of course, comfortable.

I replaced their old sectional with one that is stylish and more tailored. This takes up about the same width and length as the old one, but with no chaise on the end, this new sectional really opens up the room.

Fun fact: this sofa fabric is kid and pet friendly! This fabric is similar to sunbrella, where it's highly stain resistant and easy to clean.

After drawing the floor-plan, I knew I wanted to add two chairs next to the fireplace so that the area felt more functional. I sourced a rug that was long enough to go under the sofa and almost reach the chairs, so there was a visual connection to that side of the room.

I chose this beautiful neutral color (Benjamin Moore, Pale Oak OC-20 to be exact) because I knew I would be incorporating a dark sectional fabric since it would be best for wear-and-tear purposes.

The patterned pillows were the main inspiration for the color scheme and ambiance of this room. I instantly fell in love with the tribal design, stylish pattern, and colors in this fabric. The accents of red inspired the main accent color to be sprinkled throughout the room. When you look at these photos, you will be drawn to the accent chairs and the art, without feeling like the color is overwhelming. Speaking of art, this abstract piece over the fireplace was completely customized by a trade vendor to have it be the perfect size and design. I also added a pop of red to the sectional, which ties in nicely with the chair fabric over to the other side of the room as well as geometric black and ivory print pillows to added a nice contrast to the red chairs.

The shadowbox art over the sectional is my favorite piece in this room! It was crafted from folded recycled newspapers and finished in metallic hand-applied gold and silver leaf, paired over a neutral linen fabric.

The built-in bookcase showcased in the pictures was pre-existing, so I was able to use this as an attractive and functional storage space for various items. I helped style the bookcase with new and existing accessories while also adding baskets on the bottom shelves, ideal for storing less-attractive items, such as small toys and video games.

The chair's ottomans were perfect to add that extra needed storage space, while also being hidden. I chose a durable tan leather that coordinates with the orange-tan coloring in the pattered pillows.

Allison's journey with "the glam house" in Pelham, NH, was a personal and transformative experience that spanned three years. The project was more than just a home renovation; it was a labor of love that unfolded while she and her husband were living in the house. The decision to take on this significant endeavor was fueled by their shared vision for unlocking the hidden potential of the property.

Allison embarked on the mission to blend modern aesthetics with the traditional charm of the house, ensuring that the changes they made would not only enhance their living experience but also contribute to the property's resale value. One of the major transformations involved replacing all the flooring in the house with beautiful hardwood red oak, complemented by a rich and elegant dark espresso stain.

The heart of the home, the Kitchen, underwent a complete overhaul. The couple decided to strip it down to its bare bones and rebuild it with a custom-designed 8' island as the centerpiece. The choice of white quartzite countertops added a touch of sophistication and a modern flair to the culinary space.

The Primary Bathroom, another focal point of the renovation, received a total makeover. The space was gutted and reimagined with an all-white scheme that exuded cleanliness and serenity. This transformation not only elevated the aesthetic of the home but also enhanced the overall sense of luxury and relaxation.

To infuse color and personality into the rooms, Allison strategically incorporated art and accessories. These carefully chosen elements served as vibrant accents, breathing life into the otherwise neutral palette. The thoughtfully curated pieces not only reflected the couple's taste but also added a unique and personalized touch to each space.

Acknowledging the importance of lighting as a design feature, Allison ensured that the home was adorned with fixtures that not only illuminated the space but also doubled as sculptural elements. The interplay of light and shadow became an integral part of the overall design, creating a dynamic and visually appealing atmosphere.

"The glam house" in Pelham, NH, stands as a testament to Allison and her husband's dedication to turning a house into a dream home. Through meticulous planning, attention to detail, and a passion for design, they succeeded in breathing new life into a property with a rich history. The journey not only transformed the physical aspects of the house but also created lasting memories and a sense of fulfillment for Allison and her family. The home, now a harmonious blend of modernity and tradition, reflects the essence of their personal style and the joy of turning a vision into reality.

SILVER LUXE

Location: Sudbury, MA
Primary Bedroom

The glamorous Bedroom design seamlessly blends classic and traditional elements, offering a fresh take on timeless elegance tailored to the distinctive style of our clients and their traditional colonial home. Embracing the desire for a traditional yet updated aesthetic, we carefully curated every detail to achieve a perfect balance.

The serene color of seaglass takes center stage in the design, infusing a sense of tranquility and sophistication into the space. This calming hue is elegantly woven throughout the room, creating a cohesive and harmonious atmosphere. To complement the chosen color palette, we meticulously sourced art pieces that not only resonate with the traditional theme but also evoke the same serene ambiance our clients envisioned.

In a departure from the conventional dark brown stain, we opted for gray-stained furniture, injecting a modern twist while maintaining a connection to the overall classic design. This choice adds a layer of freshness and uniqueness to the room, striking a harmonious contrast against the traditional backdrop.

Luxurious bedding was carefully selected to elevate the Bedroom's comfort and opulence. Soft textures and rich fabrics contribute to the inviting and sumptuous atmosphere, inviting the clients to indulge in a restful and rejuvenating space.

To enhance the visual appeal and functionality of the Bedroom, we incorporated mirrors behind the nightstands. This not only adds a touch of glamour but also introduces an element of spaciousness, reflecting light and creating a more open and airy feel. The mirrors serve as both a practical and decorative feature, contributing to the overall charm of the room.

In essence, this updated take on a classic and traditional bedroom design successfully fulfills our clients' vision, creating a haven of refined luxury within the confines of their colonial-style home. The careful selection of colors, furnishings, and decorative elements results in a timeless yet fresh aesthetic that seamlessly marries tradition with contemporary elegance.

MIDNIGHT MODERN

Location: Nashua NH
Master Bedroom Interior Design

In conceptualizing this bedroom project, my client expressed a desire for a contemporary design infused with a harmonious blend of grays and blues.

The chosen bedroom set exuded a sense of refinement, with sleek lines and minimalist design elements that contributed to an overall aesthetic that was both classic and forward-thinking. The harmonious fusion of grays and blues in the furnishings created a serene and inviting atmosphere, providing a perfect canvas for further design enhancements.

To maintain a sense of tranquility and simplicity in the bedroom, we opted for a predominantly solid color palette. The use of muted grays and calming blues in the walls, furniture, and bedding established a soothing backdrop, allowing the space to exude a Zen-like ambiance. This deliberate choice not only contributed to a visually cohesive design but also promoted a peaceful and restful environment, an essential aspect of any bedroom.

To inject a touch of personality and visual interest into the space, we strategically incorporated art pieces that complemented the chosen color scheme. These carefully curated artworks served as focal points, adding a layer of sophistication and individuality to the overall design. Additionally, patterned throw pillows became the perfect accessories to introduce a subtle pop of texture and playfulness to the otherwise serene setting.

The interplay of solids and accents, along with the thoughtful placement of decorative elements, achieved a delicate balance between modern aesthetics and timeless charm. The result was a modern bedroom design that not only met but exceeded the expectations of my clients, creating a sanctuary where contemporary elegance seamlessly merged with classic sophistication.

COZY LIVING

Location: Dracut, MA

Living Room Design

This transitional design, inspired by the area rug, successfully transformed the Family Room into a harmonious blend of comfort and style. The revitalized fireplace, carefully selected furnishings, and personalized decor elements all came together to create a space that not only met the client's desires for brightness and modernization but also exceeded their expectations in terms of warmth and functionality.

To enhance the overall brightness of the room, we opted for a neutral color palette for the walls and main furniture pieces, allowing the vibrant orange and teal accents to pop. The walls were painted in a soft cream color, providing a timeless backdrop that complements the transitional style. Windows adorned with sheer curtains were strategically incorporated to maximize natural light, creating an inviting and airy atmosphere.

The focal point of the room became the redesigned fireplace, which underwent a modern transformation. We replaced the traditional mantle with an updated design, using a stone mosaic to add a contemporary touch.

A comfortable sofa chaise was carefully selected to balance style and practicality, offering ample seating for the family while maintaining a chic and inviting look. Plush throw pillows in coordinating colors tied the whole room together, adding an extra layer of comfort and style.

To address the husband's request for color infusion, we strategically placed vibrant accent pieces throughout the room. Decorative pillows, artwork, and accessories in shades of orange and teal were strategically positioned to create a cohesive and harmonious design. This infusion of color not only brightened the space but also added a lively energy to the room.

The inclusion of bookcases along one wall served both functional and aesthetic purposes. These shelves not only provided a practical storage solution for the family's belongings but also acted as a platform to showcase their unique decorative items.

Lexington, MA Interior Design

Open Concept - Family Room/Dining Room

In designing these rooms, careful consideration was given to maximizing the functionality of the space while embracing its non-traditional dimensions. The aim was to create a harmonious blend of style and comfort, ensuring that every element served a purpose in enhancing the overall aesthetic and usability of the living areas.

Family Room

The introduction of a larger sectional was a pivotal decision in achieving a more proportional and practical living space. By carefully configuring the layout to create a conducive angle for family relaxation and TV watching, the extended length of the sectional provided ample space for each family member. This deliberate design choice not only enhanced the overall aesthetics of the room but also contributed significantly to the functionality of the space, ensuring a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for daily activities.

The choice of Crypton sofa fabric underscored a commitment to both style and practicality. Similar to Sunbrella, this fabric boasted impressive kid-friendly qualities with its high stain resistance and easy-to-clean features. This ensured that the living space remained both sophisticated and resilient, accommodating the dynamic lifestyle of a family while maintaining the desired level of elegance.

After finalizing the floor plan and space layout, it became apparent that a customized carpet was essential to tie the room together. Opting for a carpet with a tailored length and width (9’-6" x 15’-6") allowed for a seamless integration into the space, emphasizing the attention to detail in creating a cohesive and visually appealing environment. This bespoke approach to the carpet selection not only added a touch of personalization but also addressed the specific spatial requirements of the room, completing the comprehensive redesign with precision and style.

Dining Room

The introduction of a custom dining table and chairs, elegantly stained in a rich dark chocolate/espresso hue, became the focal point of the room. This deliberate choice not only conveyed a timeless aesthetic but also added a touch of sophistication to the dining area.

To infuse a sense of continuity between the dining and family rooms, an existing piece of art was seamlessly incorporated. This art piece not only brought visual cohesion to the overall design but also served as a tasteful bridge between the different styles employed in the adjacent spaces. Complemented by carefully selected custom art in the family room, the entire area became a harmonious composition of diverse yet complementary elements.

The lighting scheme underwent a transformation with the replacement of the chandelier by a striking drum pendant. This contemporary fixture injected a sense of drama and modernity into the dining space, creating a captivating focal point. The pendant not only illuminated the room in a more stylish manner but also contributed to the overall coherence of the design, enhancing the visual appeal of the dining area.

To add depth and visual interest, floor-to-ceiling drapery panels in a contrasting color were introduced. Against the backdrop of light gray walls, these drapes not only provided a pop of contrast but also created a sense of grandeur and sophistication. This thoughtful addition enhanced the overall aesthetic, contributing to a well-balanced and visually pleasing dining room that seamlessly complemented the adjacent family space.

CONCORD TRADITIONAL

Concord, MA Interior Design

In the Living Room, the cohesive redesign takes center stage, seamlessly blending various elements inspired by the client's art and existing furnishings. The carefully selected upholstery, pillows, and accent furnishings not only contribute to the visual harmony but also hold profound meaning for the clients. Each piece tells a story, creating a personalized and inviting atmosphere.

The influence of Asian culture and design can be observed throughout every room, adding a touch of elegance and uniqueness to the overall aesthetic. This cultural infusion enhances the depth of the design, creating a space that reflects the client's diverse tastes and interests.

A significant addition to the redesign is the custom-built showcase for the client's fine china. This installation not only serves a functional purpose but also becomes a focal point, allowing the cherished china to be displayed in all its glory.

The fireplace facade undergoes a transformative update with the introduction of marble slabs. This not only modernizes the space but also adds a touch of sophistication and brightness. The choice of lighter neutrals for repainting all spaces creates a canvas that allows subtle green and blue accessories to stand out as captivating focal points in every room.

To soften the entryway, a stair runner is installed, adding a layer of comfort and visual interest.

BABY/CHILD

Andover, MA Interior Design

Here are two nurseries designed for clients in Andover, MA.

These were both a collaborative effort with them being so personal and exciting for the expecting parents. The designs were completed after a few sessions of sourcing products online together.

We were uncertain which color scheme to go with for both, until we were inspired by bedding options.

Pink Nursery: The crib and rocking chair were custom ordered from a local luxury baby furniture showroom. Everything else was sourced online from various companies.

Multi-colored Nursery: I sourced the furniture from Restoration Hardware. The window shade, rug, art and decor were sourced from trade and online vendors.

We kept all of the main furniture pieces neutral so that it would be easy to change the color scheme as time goes on.

In the past five years, my consulting work with a Senior Living Corporation has been marked by a commitment to elevating the standards of their new builds and renovation projects. Operating at a commercial and hospitality level, our focus has been on creating spaces that not only meet the highest standards of functionality and safety for seniors but also offer an ambiance of luxury and comfort.

The incorporation of cutting-edge design concepts, high-quality materials, and upscale furnishings not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal, but also contributed to a more inviting and engaging environment for residents.

Our approach to design in the Senior Living sector is distinguished by a willingness to be daring and creative. Leveraging luxury furnishings and fabrics enables us to introduce a playful and innovative dimension to the projects, fostering an atmosphere that transcends the conventional expectations of senior living spaces.

The incorporation of bespoke, high-end furnishings not only adds an element of sophistication but also addresses the specific needs of the senior residents. From custom ergonomic furniture to sensory-friendly textiles, every detail is carefully considered to create an environment that prioritizes both comfort and style.

BUILDING LOBBY

Commercial Interior Design - Waltham, MA

Here's a commercial building in Waltham, MA with a Bank of America branch on the 1st floor and office tenants occupying the remaining 5 floors.

The marble walls in the 1st floor vestibule area and dark brown brick running up the stairwells were existing and worthy of keeping.

I drew inspiration from the emerald green veins in the marble and decided to paint the stair balusters and the metal doors green as a feature and color pop. Updated pendant lights were added from the top floor to the bottom at varied lengths to create some visual interest throughout. The paint color and lighting transformed the space and gave it a hipper vibe.

New abstract art, a console table, bench seating and floral also make the space feel softer and updated.

Large Arrangements start around $125-$200, depending on container and variety of florals.
