This client was looking for something fresh and different for her ranch style home. Having lived here with her husband and kids most of her life she was ready to shake things up, and that she did! The scope consisted mostly of her Living and Dining Space, as well as her Entry, and a few upgrades in the Kitchen.
Living Space
After finalizing an area rug for the space, we spent an afternoon shopping at Ethan Allen, where she selected a comfortable sofa with a chaise for easy lounging. Then we suggested the Baylee Barrel Back chair, a staple for us for its swivel functionality and overall comfort. We chose a deep sapphire velvet for the side chairs, and a soft gray for the sofa with pops of teal pillows, again pulling in more color elements from the rug. All finishes, from the rug to the furniture are very durable and timeless.
What truly made this room chic though were the modern additions. A clean line media console complemented the finish on the nesting coffee tables. Accent tables sourced from our trade vendors add convenience to keep from reaching around the room for a surface. An abstract painting hangs over the fireplace to tie in the rug and reminds our clients of days spent at the beach. The biggest secret about this room is the fiddle fig tree in the corner; she invested in having the most realistic faux tree so she never has to worry about maintenance.
Dining Room
While shopping for the Living Room we also spotted a mid-century style round table for the Dining Room. We always love a round table in a Dining Room for ease of socializing, and because of its light grey surface it tied in perfectly with the tones of the living space. A simple yet elegant chandelier lights up the room with coordinating sconces. Three large mirrors were then hung on the opposite end of the room to give the illusion of a larger space.
The real “WOW” in the space though is the large abstract art. We went with something that brought in colors not used, but still worked because of what had already been used. It is a complete surprise element that you don’t expect turning the corner, but we love it!
Entry/Kitchen
While the changes in these spaces were minor, it really helped tie back in with the spaces that had major changes. Since our client wasn’t quite ready to tackle demoing the tile, a custom cut rug was ordered to fit the entry. We love these rugs and suggest them often for entry’s because of how easy they are to clean and the neutral colors and textures they come in. A slim console was added as a “catch all” and a simple mirror with smokey details for a modern look.
For the Kitchen, new counter stools were sourced that had a chrome finish to compliment the new chrome pendants, and other chrome finishes in the home.
Overall this space is chic enough for a girl’s night in, durable enough for having the grandkids make memories together, and super stylish for everyday living!
Primary Bedroom
Our client desired a fresh and vibrant bedroom that reflected the colorful themes we've established in her other rooms.
The design journey began with the discovery of an abstract piece of art, which became the cornerstone of our color scheme. This artwork's dynamic palette guided the selection of all subsequent elements in the room.
To provide a contrast to her warm flooring, we replaced the cherry furniture with a beautiful gray collection. This change not only modernized the space but also highlighted the vibrant hues we introduced.
We kept the foundation of the room a neutral gray. Luxurious velvet pillows and colorful decor pieces were used to add pops of color, creating a sophisticated yet lively atmosphere.
The result is a stunning bedroom that perfectly balances boldness and elegance, providing our client with a vibrant sanctuary that complements her entire home.
